What do you enjoy most about teaching at Het Gymlokaal?

The freedom you get to make every class so different that I can surprise the people in my class every time. One time with short conditioning rounds or conversely a long workout focused on powerful movements.

What is your background?

I completed a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Science. I have gained experience and learned through courses, participating in various sports and of course teaching at different locations.

What is unique about your classes/way of teaching?

I think what is characteristic of my classes is that you really do a lot. I prefer to fill the entire board and teach everyone as much as possible in the three quarters of an hour that I teach. Lots of energy, which is reflected in what I can pack into a class.

What is your specialty within the field of movement?

I am a huge fan of hinge movements (moving from your hips), romanian deadlifts, kettlebell swings and fun combinations with kettlebells such as cleans, overhead lunges, snatches and all movements where the kettlebell flies in all directions.

What quality should every good trainer possess?

I think it is important that a trainer can see everything — where people’s limitations are, what they can work on or which variation of an exercise they can do to improve their technique. In addition, I think it is important that you as a trainer can make people believe in themselves and that they have more strength than they initially think.

What can people expect from you as a trainer and from your classes?

I always try to put as much energy and challenges into my classes so that everyone truly has a goal in the class and can walk out the door with a satisfied feeling.

What can you offer/teach people?

Putting the finishing touches on movements, so they perform the exercise more easily, get their technique more under control and therefore also get more enjoyment out of certain workouts because they notice they are making progress.
