What do you enjoy most about teaching at Het Gymlokaal?
The great atmosphere, the participants and the spacious hall. You really get the feeling of a gym here, like we experienced as children in primary school.
What is your background?
I am an A-class kickboxer (professional). My fight record is 7 losses and 23 wins, of which 8 by knock-out. In addition, I studied at the Centraal Instituut Opleiding Sportleiders (CIOS). There I obtained the following: Sports coordinator for uniformed professions, Social movement specialist, Fitness A, Kickboxing trainer A and running condition trainer.
What is unique about your classes/way of teaching?
My classes are technical and I create combinations with thought behind them. I have a good build-up from technical work to getting the maximum out of everyone at a high pace.
What is your specialty within the field of movement?
I am someone who considers technique very important. During classes I always try to teach you something to improve your technique. In addition, I can motivate you very well to increase your perseverance.
What quality should every good trainer possess?
Patient, enthusiastic and sociable.
What can people expect from you as a trainer and from your classes?
That I always want to teach them something or introduce them to kickboxing. Kickboxing is so much more than a sport. For some it works as therapy and they unconsciously take this into their daily lives. I have the right balance between teaching something and going all out!
What can you offer/teach people?
Kickboxing! I can turn anyone into a fighter. With my experience as a fighter and as a trainer, I have a lot to offer in the field of combat sports.
