What do you like most about teaching at Het Gymlokaal?

Working with enthusiastic colleagues in a relaxed atmosphere while every trainer remains passionate and professional in regard of their discipline and the class they teach.The diversity within the members, their motivation and curiosity to challenge themselves and develop their athletic abilities.

What is your background?

During the past 19 years I have attended many capoeira training courses, workshops and events in addition to other sports disciplines that I have practiced and taught the last 30 years.

What is unique about your lessons / way of teaching?

I teach Capoeira by combining the rich elements that the sport offers.At the same time I also try to incorporate basic blocks of sport and exercising such as: coordination, motor skills, stamina, strength and flexibility, to develop and improve capoeira movements and playfulness in the discipline.

What is your specialty in the field of movement?

My way of teaching capoeira with the main goal of helping each individual develop and reach a higher level. All of this is done taking in count the student’s abilities.

What quality should every good trainer possess?

The trainer must be able to empathize with the people he transfers knowledge to. He must provide each individual with the challenging task they need in order to push their boundaries and provide each student the support needed to grow and develop.

What can people expect from you as a trainer and from your lessons?

I will help and guide people in the discovery of capoeira while training and playing in a safe, challenging and above all fun manner.

What can you offer / teach people?

The practice of capoeira in a pleasant environment where with the group, we help each other getting better using exercise.
